She has a master’s degree in Child Development from Cal State, Los Angeles; a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology; a PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) Credential in School Psychology; and a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. While pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Toren focused on family systems and neuropsychological assessment. Her dissertation was related to classifying subtypes of ADHD and their neuropsychological profiles. Also, through her work, Dr. Toren has developed expertise in the field of childhood autism. In her positions, Dr. Toren has focused on providing social/emotional assessment and neuropsychological assessment in addition to providing therapy to students, teacher consultation, and parent education.

Dr. Toren also is a Licensed Educational Psychologist in California, a Diplomat of American Board of School Neuropsychology, and a member of CPA (California Psychological Association).
